FRIEND DOGS IN THE LIVING ROOM:

A MUSICAL EXTRAVAGANZA

Monday, October 8th 6-10pm (Door opens at 5:30pm) - you are invited to a night of music, food, drinks, entertainment, and community - with all proceeds helping to keep the living room living, and KC works growing!

We've got some big plans the coming year, including new and improved productions of 2017's two hit musical comedies, Milking Christmas and The Ballad of Lefty & Crabbe - the latter of which we'll also be co-producing for a five week run in Chicago!

We're so excited to develop and spread these fantastic KC works - but we can't do any of it without your help. Be sure to get your ticket now - we'll be announcing a full lineup of the night's events and entertainment soon!

Cultural Cannibals
by Ron Simonian
September 16th, 2018

Theatre today is striving to become more culturally diverse, and far more inclusive. Unfortunately, it's not always smooth sailing. In this play, former allies become mortal enemies in the pursuit of inclusion at a (fictional) regional theater in upstate New York with a passion for diversity at all costs. Here it becomes clear that the road to hell is often paved with the blood of the marginalized.

Featuring Lewis Morrow, Bradley Thomas, Elise Poehling, and Rusty Sneary

Doors open 7:00pm, staged reading starts at 7:30pm
Pay what you can at the door (cash only, please). BYOB!

NOW PLAYING:

ELEPHANT

by Lewis Morrow
September 7th - 16th

The Living Room is proud to serve as an associate producer for Rising Tide Productions' run of Elephant, a new play by Lewis Morrow!

Elephant was inspired by a real-life incident of a black man being approached by his white boss with an offensive request - to wear a chicken suit as part of a presentation to impress the company's CEO.

The play dives into a discussion about racism in the workplace and uplifts the perspective of Black and Latin individuals, showcasing how microaggressions can fester and explode, and how people of color resist and persist against those tensions.

Written by Lewis Morrow
Directed by Bob Linebarger

Starring Lewis Morrow, Shawna Pena-Downing, Rebecca Munoz, Ellis Wallace, Casey Jane, and Connor Eastman

Produced by Casey Jane and Bob Linebarger
Associate Producers Shawnna Journagan and Rusty Sneary
